Overview
Form Theory is a studio that makes ceramics and the software to sell them. They needed one identity that could sit on a mug and on a checkout page.
The scope covered naming, identity and packaging, delivered over several focused weeks.
Challenge
The founders had two audiences who never met: craft buyers and developers. Existing branding leaned fully toward one or the other.
The brief was to move forward without losing what already worked.
Creative approach
We built the identity around measured imperfection: a precise grid, interrupted on purpose by hand-torn edges and one off-axis detail.
The wordmark, a restrained grotesque and a paper-toned palette carry across packaging, labels and interface without changing character.
Reflection
The system works because it has rules and knows when to break them. Sample project for demonstration.
We would make the same call again.
