Overview
Fieldnotes is a publishing tool for researchers who write while travelling. We designed and prototyped the first version.
The scope covered creative development, prototyping and front-end, delivered over several focused weeks.
Challenge
Field researchers work offline, on small screens, in poor light. Most writing tools assume the opposite.
The brief was to move forward without losing what already worked.
Creative approach
We prototyped in the browser from week one, testing real notes on real phones before polishing anything.
The final front end is fast, works offline and keeps the interface out of the way of the writing.
Reflection
Building early taught us more than any wireframe. Sample project for demonstration.
