Typefaces are not neutral
Every typeface carries a voice, a history and a set of assumptions. Choosing one is a creative decision.

Clients sometimes ask for a neutral typeface. There is no such thing. A grotesque suggests directness, a serif suggests authority, and a mono suggests that someone is showing their working.
We choose type the way a director casts an actor: by listening for the voice the brand already has, then finding the face that says it clearly.
Pairings matter just as much. Two typefaces in conversation can say more than any single one.
